I am going to break down my ingredients list (for all my products) and explain what the product is, its properties, and why I used it in my formulas.

To start, my main ingredient in my lip balm and my tinted lip balm is coconut oil. It's INCI name is cocos nucifera. Coconut oil is a very popular oil in todays society for cooking, haircare, dental care and skincare. When I began my formulation process I knew right away I wanted coconut oil in my ingredients list. It is very beneficial to the skin in ways people might not realize.

The benefits of coconut oil:

- It can be a superhero when it comes to reducing inflammation of the skin and calms any redness the skin might have

- It absorbs easily and helps lock in moisture + hydrates the skin to keep it supple, smooth, and soothed

- It can help heal all wounds (which if the lips are dry and cracked... well this speaks for itself)

- It also helps aid in the increase of collagen production (goodbye wrinkles, hello plumped lips!)

- The medium-chain fatty acids found in coconut oil also help to protect the skin from harmful unwanted bacteria

- It's vegan!

- It minimizes the look of fine lines and wrinkles (those little lines and cracks we are trying to hide on the lips = gone!)

- It is a great source of antioxidants (it helps to fight against environmental stressors that accelerate the signs of ageing

The skin on your lips is very thin and fragile. Keeping all of this in mind, why would I not use it as my number one ingredient for my lip balms?? It is really an amazing oil that has lots of properties that I wanted to share with all of you!
